Sanitarium Health Foods selects Planscape for Production Planning Processes
DALLAS, TEXAS -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Sept. 14, 2005 --i2 Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: ITWO - News), a leading provider of demand-driven supply chain solutions designed to enable business agility, today announced the Sanitarium Health Food Company, Australia's largest health food company, purchased additional i2 solutions in the second quarter of 2005. Sanitarium intends to utilize the tools to plan their factory schedules on the i2 Agile Business Platform.

Sanitarium intends to implement the solution to improve its production planning capabilities which is designed to increase plan stability and company responsiveness as well as develop more realistic and long-term factory plans. i2 consultants plan to complete the implementation with application development and support from Planscape Technologies, a provider of production planning solutions for flow process manufacturers. Also part of this project, Sanitarium plans to implement i2 Master Data Management for Planning as well as upgrade its already successful use of i2 Supply Chain Planner.

Sanitarium plans to implement these solutions to help align production management and business goals. The solutions are designed to provide an increase in on-time delivery rates improving customer service. It can also help lower manufacturing costs, enable more efficient use of resources, reduce inventory levels and increase throughput. The i2 Master Data Management solution can help the company manage the automated workflows for planning and integrate and consolidate the data used for the i2 planning solutions. The solution is designed to provide pre-built tools for workflow and management of the planning data, and can reduce the time taken to deliver value from the solution.

Additionally, Sanitarium plans to upgrade to the latest version of i2 Supply Chain Planner. The company's supply chain planner upgrade will introduce new functionalities, particularly to help the company with constrained supply. Using this technology, Sanitarium hopes to increase the focus of its planning processes by evolving from weekly to daily planning cycles as well as reducing its inventory investment. Sanitarium is also looking to use these tools to reduce the complexity and business risk around their current customized workflow and data preparation tools. Sanitarium uses i2 Supply Chain Planner and i2 Demand Planner to provide a complete approach to forecasting, demand plans and performance management to influence price and promotional activities.
